Electronic Medical Records: New Tools for Competitiveness
Abstract
Aim: This review explores various studies and articles fo-cused on the impact of Information Technology (IT) in health-care management and patient care. Methods: This review reviewed multiple sources discuss-ing IT applications such as electronic medical records (EMRs), healthcare information systems, and the strategic implications of IT investments in healthcare organizations. Results: IT integration in healthcare improves operational efficiency, enhances patient care quality, and supports better financial management. Studies highlight benefits such as im-proved access to patient data, enhanced decision-making, and cost savings. Conclusion: The findings underscore the strategic impor-tance of IT in healthcare, emphasizing its role in achieving competitive advantage through improved service delivery and financial outcomes. Challenges include data security, system integration complexities, and resistance to adoption.
