Abstract
Objective: To assess Primary Health Care (PHC) physi-cians' awareness about patients' right.
Subjects and Methods: A simple random sample was followed to include 121 PHC physicians in Aseer Region, Saudi Arabia. A study questionnaire was constructed by researchers that comprised socio-demographic variables, current information about the Patients' Bill of Rights (PBR) and 30 statements on PHC physicians' awareness regarding patients' rights.
Results: Less than two-thirds of PHC physicians (61.2%) heard of PBR while 19.8% read about it. The awareness of PHC physicians about patients' rights was significantly asso-ciated with their qualifications and experience in PHC.
Conclusions: A considerable proportion of PHC physicians in Aseer Region do not hear or read about the PBR.
Recommendations: To raise PHC physicians' awareness regarding PBR through continuous medical education and to distribute brochures and leaflets about PBR in all PHC Centers
