Abstract

Background: Septate uterus, one of the most common forms of congenital uterine malformations, negatively affects female reproductive health. Traditionally, it is diagnosed by laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. Hysteroscopicmetroplasty is a simple and safe approach for the removal of the uterine septum and It is considered the first-line therapy for restoring the uterine cavity, with high levels of improvement to subse-quent reproductive outcomes. Aim of Study: Was to demonstrate the reproductive out-come after operative hysteroscopicmetroplasty for women having septate uterus. Patients and Methods: This study is a prospective study, was carried out on 100 women attending the infertility clinic of the El Shatby University Hospital and Private Hospital, during period from October 2019 till October 2021. Result: In Preoperative HSG there were 18 (18%) with Septate uterus and 82 (82%) with Sub-septate uterus and in Post-operative HSG all patients had normal uterus. There was statistically significant relation between Outcome and Preop-erative HSG. There was statistically significant relation between Outcome and Baseline transvaginal U/S. Conclusion: Hysteroscopicuterine metroplasty may im-prove the reproductive performance of the septate uterus, and it may be considered and highly recommended in clinical practice. Resection of the cervical septum may increase the probability of a live-birth pregnancy for patients with a cervical septum, and this procedure could be recommended for cases of a complete uterine septum.
