Abstract
Case Report: Encephalitis is a well-documented neurological manifestation as a complication of Н1N1 influenza virus infection that usually starts with flu like illness or upper respiratory tract symptoms. We report a саse of Н1N1 encephalitis in a previously healthy 6 years old Saudi male with no respiratory symptoms. As far as we know this is the second case of HINI encephalitis that was not preceded by respiratory symptoms or flu like illness. Н1N1-assoсіated encephalitis must be considered in the differential diagnosis in patients with unexplained altered mental status during HIN] influenza pandemic. Diagnosis is based on neurological and neuroimaging findings, cerebrospinal fluid analysis in combination with laboratory-confirmed HINT respiratory tract infection.

Н1N1-assосiated encephalitis must be considered in the differential diagnosis in patients with unexplained sudden onset of altered mental status. Diagnosis is based on neurological and neuroimaging findings, and cerebrospinal fluid analysis in combination with laboratory-confirmed H1N1 respiratory tract infection.
