Review Article: Strategy to Improve Penile Length Perception after Successful Penile Prosthesis Implantation, TAREK ANIS, AHMED EL-GUINDY and HISHAM FOUAD
Abstract
Introduction: Dissatisfaction about penile size is a frequent complaint that can negatively affect patients’ satisfaction rates following successful penile prosthesis implantation.
Objective: The aim of this review is to describe best strategies that have been used to improve penile length per-ception after penile prosthesis implantation.
Methods: Literature review based on a search of the PUBMED database using these keywords: Penile prosthesis, penile length, size, enlargement, augmentation, lengthening, and phalloplasty.
Conclusions: Patients dissatisfied about their penile length post penile prosthesis implantation need proper sex education and counselling.
Adopting single or combination of different strategies which are individualized to serve these patients improve their perception of penile length thus improving overall satisfaction about implanted penile prosthesis.
