Case Report: Use of Exposed Biological Mesh to Close the Abdominal Wall in Emergency Situations, MAREI H. AL-SHANDEER
Abstract
Background: Surgeons, are sometimes faced with cases when it is difficult, improper or even impossible to close the abdominal wall primarily. The proven benefits of biological mesh make it a good choice in such difficult situations.
Care Report: We report our experience with one of the biological meshes with good results in terms of giving the patient the opportunity to recover relatively fast and receive further therapy before it is too late.
Conclusion: Biological mesh is a good option in cases of contaminated wounds when immediate reconstruction is needed for fast recovery to receive further therapy.
