Abstract
Background: This study evaluated the safety and the efficacy of ultrasound modified PEC s block in control of perioperative pain in breast surgeries.
Methods: Forty patients candidate for breast surgery, twenty patients undergoing modified PEC s block done pre-operative and twenty patients took IV morphine intra operative without any further interventions, they will be evaluated by intraoperative fentanyl consumption, sedation score postop-erative, VAS in PACU, VAS before discharge, 24hr morphine consumption, 1st rescue analgesia, and incidence of compli-cation.
Results: There is significantly decrease in sedation score postoperative, VAS iv PACU and before discharge, 1st rescue analgesia and 24hr morphine consumption in PEC s group rather than another group.
Conclusions: Ultrasound modified PEC s block provided safe and effective management of perioperative pain in breast surgeries.
